Records of the Hartford '83 genealogical conference sponsored by the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Connecticut Society of Genealogists, and the Federation of Genealogical Societies. The first national conference for genealogists in the northeast, it was designed for amateur and professional genealogists as well as institutions and organizations that provide assistance for family history research. Included were lectures, workshops, and exhibits. The Connecticut Historical Society, including Head Librarian Elizabeth Abbe, was involved with the conference. Records are from Abbe, Joan and Joe Robidoux, and Betty Walker. Includes a sample registration packet and cassette tapes of the sessions.
